Practice makes perfect!
This is a diary of all the self-taught experiences that my sister, Allie (in-law actually, but if I could have had a sister, I would have chosen her in heart beat) and I, (Rohini) will be experiencing. We both love simplicity, we love food that comes from the heart, and we both love making people feel comfortable and happy. What other best way is there, than through their stomaches!
I've been baking since I was I was a kid, buy only really started taking it seriously about 2 1/2 years ago. I decided to make my dear friend's bachlorette cake as a joke. That same night, I was asked if I could make her wedding cake (I was BEYOND) nervous, but decided to do it... I mean talk about an honor. And it's been ever since then I've been dreaming about owning a delicious smelling bakery with my loved ones.
Allie, has just this week finally got her mixer, and already accomplished her very first cake from scratch, and has made her first batch of homemade bread!! I was so jealous!! What better smell is there than fresh bread out of the oven! I wish we lived closer to share our yummy treats...
Right now, due to real life, unfortunately that dream can not be fulfilled instantly, but with the time we are given until then... all our experiments are from our home kitchens. Cakes, bread, cupcakes, muffins, pies... and more... this is going to be quite the learning experience for us both!!
